Nannas Recipes in 4 Sentences...Slow Cooker Greek Lamb

This is an absolute winner. A family favourite for over 20 years, and truly one of those meals that you simply put in the slow cooker or in the oven, and forget about.

I hope you love it as we do.

Slow Cooker Greek Lamb

In a crockpot (slow cooker) combine 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 4-6 garlic cloves, crushed, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, and 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. Add a leg or shoulder of lamb, lamb cutlets, lamb chops or lamb fillets, and coat the meat thoroughly with the sauce. Cook on low for 4-6 hours. Make a sauce for serving, by adding a teaspoon of mint jelly to 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar and heating just slightly in the microwave to soften the mint jelly so it can be incorporated into the vinegar.

Note: This can also be baked in a heavy casserole dish with a lid. Bake in the oven at 160C for 6-8 hours.

Enjoy!

  1. Dear Mimi,
As luck would have it there's a lamb roast in my freezer that's been waiting for a new and delicious way to prepare it! This looks to be it. And it will be authentically Australian because that's where the lamb is from by way of Costco in the U.S. Blessings, Cookie

  3. This recipe of Mimi's has become a family favourite here. At the end of cooking we put it in a hot Weber BBQ for 10 mins or so. Then it has a lovely crispy crust and is tender on the inside.

  5. Hi Mimi,
I tried to send this by gmail but couldn't find your address, but wanted to
answer your comment you left on my blog today, so gonna put it here.

    Hi Mimi,
So very nice to hear from you. I am doing well, thanks for asking. Our daughter Dee was just
home for a few days, so we had a great time, it just goes by way too fast tho, but we are
just thankful we had the time we did.

So when will your daughter graduate?? Our schools have been out since the end of May or
early June. I would expect she has senioritis.....as both of mine did....and I even remember
having it altho it was over 47 yrs. ago......lol You are geared to being done and just want
to get on with it, and that is all there is to it.....

Hope all goes well with her graduation and the rest of the year and that things turn out
the way she wants, but only if the Lord knows it is best for her.......

Thanks for coming by Mimi, it is always a treat to hear from you hon.
    Love and blessings galore,
    Nellie
