What's really important?

I asked my daughter to tell me the favourite part of her day today.

She said:

When you woke me up with a kiss on the forehead.
When we sang along together in the car.
When that butterfly came and sat on the handrail on the back stairs right next to us.
When we watched The Munsters together.
When we made that skirt that was too big, fit me better.
When you helped me clean my room.

She didn't say:

When you bought me something.
When we went shopping.
When we spent money.

You don't need money to raise a family.

You need love, patience and the willingness to give them your time, not things.

  1. If only more parents realised that! Sounds like she is going to be a very well adjusted young adult.
