Welcome to Five Star Frou-Frou and thankyou all for linking your gorgeous projects last week. From garden tips, to furniture makeovers, to pretty frou-frou of all kinds, it was a true feast for the eyes, as I call one of my Pinterest boards!

Thankyou to Cynthia from View From A Garden, for sharing her beautiful brooch and it's history. I love nothing more than jewellery with a story, so this post really won my heart.

After seeing this little guy on an online garage sale I knew he needed to be saved! See how I gave him a fresh new Rocking Horse Makeover | www.raggedy-bits.com

Thanks too, to Sam at Raggedy Bits for sharing her sweet rocking horse makeover, and the memories that go with it. You'll love it.

And finally, thankyou to Tarah at Grandmas House DIY, who is on a mission to restore her Grandmothers keepsakes and much loved furniture (both of them), and preserving them in their original state, for future generations.

And I loved Pams thoughts on Desire and how expecting others to interpret our innermost feelings, can really be a problem in life. Read it over a A New Lens.

Five Star Frou-Frou # 49...

http://blythetheque.blogspot.com.au/2016/05/enchanted-fairy-party.html

Welcome back to Five Star Frou-Frou!

I've had a crazy time, devoid of technology for several weeks (computer meltdown!), and devoid of time to commune with you all in other weeks. I do sometimes think of discontinuing Five Star Frou-Frou, but the knowledge that I have made so many wonderful new blogging friends is what keeps me going. I hope you'll forgive my sometimes erratic posting, and join me in applauding our beautiful and talented community here.

Features from Five Star Frou-Frou #48, include my lovely friend Monikas, divine Fairy Party. Monika is so talented and has such a pretty way with everything she does. See her post above.

Our Crafty Mom shared her clever Piano Stool to Seashell Shadow Box makeover. I love this one and I've always wanted a Shadow Box table, so guess who's looking out for a worn out Piano Stool now!

And finally, Sandra at Sweet Sensations always has a visual treat in store for us, and her succulents in tablescapes are a winner for sure!

Five Star Frou-Frou #47...

Paint an old dresser with a mirror black and add glass knobs for an old Hollywood look and feel in our master bedroom! @GrandmasHousDIY

Hi everyone and welcome to Five Star Frou-Frou, where we share all sorts of froth and prettiness. I hope you'll enjoy this weeks features!

This week I've chosen a few glam projects. I fancy a bit of glamour in my life and these all really appeal to my sense of drama and style!

First off, is Tarah's fabulous dresser makeover. How refreshing to see something glossy and black and fabulous. I do love the French Provincial look, but something about this striking piece really caught my eye. Thanks Tarah!

Burlap decorated Vintage Tread Spool scissor holder

Next I chose Tammy's Vintage Desk Accessories.

Again, the stark palette, is soothing and yet stylish at the same time.

Finally, Dawn used a favourite standby of mine, a bit o' metallic gold, to glam up an old umbrella stand. Love it!

Five Star Frou-Frou #46...

image
Hello all, and welcome to Five Star Frou-Frou!
This week, Amy from A Day of Small Things was a runaway with the tally for most clicks. She showcased her divine collection of vintage patchwork quilts. I don't know about you, but I am green with envy!
Three coats of white paint made the old cabinets look new and a carefully selected tile allowed us to keep the old counter tops in order to stay within budget. | A Chat Over Coffee
Next in line was Leigh from A Chat Over Coffee. Leigh has been renovating and the results speak for themselves. Clean lines, and a new elegant look for her kitchen, all on a budget.

And finally, Gina at Victorian Wanna Be shared her stunning collection of replica Titanic dinnerware and genuine Titanic flatware. I think for any of us, the memories of the lives lost on the Titanic, remains a poignant one. I found myself wanting to reach out and touch the plates and beautiful silverware to see what stories they would tell. How special.

Thanks to all for sharing, and please make certain to make our guest features feel special by visiting and commenting.

Five Star Frou-Frou #37...love and life...

http://wvpanoply.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/love-letters-from-greatest-generation.html
Welcome to this weeks edition of Five Star Frou-Frou.

Valentines Day brought some beautiful links and I thank you all. I had a terrible time choosing features this week, so that can only be a good thing, right? The standard of everyones' posts was absolutely fabulous.

In the end, how could I go past Rita from Panopoly's recounting of her Fathers love letters to her Mother during the war. Heartwarming doesn't begin to describe this post. I defy you not to cry. Please click on the image above to take you there.
Valentine's Day Corsages by A Chat Over Coffee.png

Leigh at A Chat over Coffee also brought tears to my eyes with her tutorial on silk corsages that she distributes to the widows and widowers in her church congregation on Valentines Day. Just beautiful.

And finally, Annabel's beautiful pink, heart shaped soaps, embedded with rosebuds, were perfect for Valentines gift giving. You have to see what else Annabel got up to as well. Stunning!

Thankyou again to everyone for linking up. I honestly would have loved to give everyone a feature this week!

50 & Fab...an observation...

I stood behind a lady in the pharmacy yesterday. She was older, it was clear by her stunning silver grey hair, similar to this ladies', above.
As she paid for her purchase, I admired her stunning cocktail ring, clearly real gems, which she wore without competition from any other jewellery, apart from a matching pair of earrings, which I glimpsed under her hair, tucked behind one ear.

I had time to admire her stylish monochramatic linen outfit, and canvas shoes, similar to this idea above.

She looked so fabulous from behind that I found myself eager to see what she looked like from the front. Would she have beautifully cared for skin, with a whisper of colour? Perhaps she'd have the Summer Mediterranean glow only possible if you've travelled recently. Maybe she would have immaculately groomed brows and be  wearing statement red lipstick?

Finally, she turned, scowling a little as my daughter was in her way. That in itself, immediately made her less attractive.

But alas, we were disappointed beyond that. For she had clearly had extensive cosmetic surgery, and whatever thoughts I'd had that she was beautiful, flew out the window.

For she did not look any more youthful for the experience. She simply looked as if she were clinging desperately, to youth long fled. What a shame. I wanted to run after her, and hug her, and tell her she didn't need to try so hard, for she was already lovely. But I didn't think she'd listen.
Each to their own, but I felt so sad for her.

I hope that I can age more gracefully.

What do you think?

...Mimi...
