Every Cloud has a ....

You've heard the saying that every cloud has a silver lining?

Well, here's a photo I took of the approaching storms over the Coral Sea near the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Queensland.

These are the storms and accompanying rain depression, that went on to wreak such havoc in Toowoomba, the Lockyer Valley, Ipswich and Brisbane just two days later.

It's a lesson in the power of Nature.

My new mantra for this year, and a constant reminder on my Tray of Bliss will be 'take nothing for granted'.

Not family, friends, possessions, personal safety or supply of income, fresh water, food and other items of daily life.

It's a lesson when a modern city, can be brought to it's knees by Mother Nature in 3 short days.

From this lesson, we will all rise, wiser for the time being until the clouds of selective memory dim the bad, and elevate the good that comes from the community spirit born in times of hardship.

I thank the Universe that my family was unscathed by the floods.

That's what's on my Tray of Bliss today.

  1. Hi Mimi, glad you are back posting :)
I have gone through withdrawals lol not being able to read my daily fix of A Tray Of Bliss.

It is incredible to think of all the floods in Qld and Victoria and the damage that nature can inflict and also the fires that were in WA.

I so agree "do not take things for granted"
Going through a touch of that at the moment.....

  3. Hi Mimi lovely to have you back in the blogging world . I love reading your tray of bliss,It's always thought provoking ! We recently had fires near us here in the South West of W.A . Its was a little scary because if the wind had of changed we could of been affected . My son Jack who's 8 was getting really distressed and saying we need to go. I kept assuring him we were ok and we wouldn't put him and us in danger. But after all of the goings on in Australia and the world it really makes you think about what's really important and being prepared the best we can. You are so right when you say every cloud has a silver lining, hard to see at times, but I'm sure we can all learn from these events and prepare better in the future. My heart goes out to all the families that have lost loved ones and my prayers are with you all.
